University Survival:

Moving into Accomedation

"Moving into accommodation might seem like fun at first. The next chapter in your life. You may think you won't miss your family but we find more often you do. Why not leave your unpacking to do yourself so you can keep yourself occupied and get use to this new place?"

Tip 1: Moving in

"You'll want to keep in touch with people. At University you'll find out who your real friends are and you'll want to talk to your family more and more. Why not make a Skype or family group chat on Whatsapp. As well if you haven't, get a cheap Sim for your phone like GiffGaff. Save money and keep in touch"

Tip 2: Stay in touch

"It might seem like a strange one, but a door stop can make a huge difference to accommodation. Open your doors in your flats! It'll help you talk to your new flat mates and get everyone closer"

Tip 3: Door Stops

"Usually, when you move into halls, it will be a couple of weeks before your course starts. So why don't you get to Uni and start studying!

HA. Not really. But going in and joining a soceity or club can be a great way to meet new people and keep you occupied. If you're sat in your room, missing people you'll feel horrible! Societies are a great way to get you out and about with people"

Tip 4: Join a society

"It sounds obvious, but a lot of students won't actually decorate their halls room. You're going to be living here for at least your first year so make a room a home. Make it your own, get some posters, pictures, make it feel like your room because this is your new home! Decorate your communal area with your flat mates and really make it a place to love and live"

Tip 5: Make a Halls a Home
